Daniel Patrick Merchant, age 46, of Detour, Maryland, died suddenly on Thursday morning, May 22, 2008, at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Born September 27, 1961 in Tehran, Iran, he was the son of Audrey (Woodford) Merchant of Springfield, Va., and the late William Eugene Merchant. He was the husband of 18 years to Elaine Willis Merchant.
He was a member of the Keymar Evangelical Wesleyan Church, and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and spouse, Joseph and Joy Merchant of Hanover, Pa., daughters, Kelli Merchant of Cumberland, Md., Christine Merchant of Hanover, Pa., and Alex Merchant of Springfield, Va.; grandson, Valin Merchant; brother and spouse, Douglas and Theresa Merchant of Springfield, Va., sister and spouse, Donna and Eric Bonner of New Windsor, Md., and a brother and spouse, Dale and Vickie Merchant of Germantown, Md.
A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Keymar Evangelical Wesleyan Church with his pastor the Rev. James N. Hosey officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church.
