Dale E. Boyles, Sr

April 7, 1921 — February 25, 2013

Dale Edwin Boyles, Sr., age 91 of Westminster, died peacefully on Monday February 25, 2013 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. He was born April 7, 1921 in Juniata, Pennsylvania, son of the late Roy and Sarah Heberling Boyles. He was the husband of Helen K. Mentzer Boyles, his wife of 67 years.
He served in the U.S. Army 156 Infantry during World War II. Dale retired as a department supervisor for Sweetheart Cup and was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Westminster. He enjoyed helping others above self and especially enjoyed working outdoors in his garden. He and his wife traveled during retirement, spent time at his home in Huntingdon County, PA., and time with family and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dale “Skip” E. Boyles Jr. and Ann Boyles of Finksburg; grandchildren, Amy Rink and husband Jim of Hampstead, Jason Boyles and wife Evelyn Curaqueo of Westminster; step-grandchildren, Gregory Moss and wife K.C. of Columbus, Ohio, Kelly Morraye and husband Jay of Sykesville; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Jared Rink; step-great-grandchildren, Annie and Noah Morraye, Braden and Ella Moss; siblings, Virginia Barnes of Rosedale, MD, Leslie Gable of Upperco, MD, and Peggy Craig and husband Richard of Washington, PA. Also surviving are 20 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Boyles and a sister, Evelyn Luke.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 Carroll Street, Westminster with Rev. Kevin C. Clementson and Rev. Martha W. Clementson co-officiating. Inurnment will be private in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium.

Arrangments are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Westminster.
