I. Cordelia Schott, 77, of Union Bridge, Maryland died peacefully Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Shepherd’s Glen Assisted Living in Taneytown. Born August 12, 1937 in Milford, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Roberta Davidson Reynolds. She was the wife of the late Bruno Schott, to whom she was married for 54 years.
Cordelia was a 1955 graduate of Taneytown High School. She was a gifted seamstress and worked for the Union Bridge Clothing Company. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, gardening, and swimming. She was a devout and committed Christian. She taught Sunday School and was always active in the church. She was involved in the Carroll County Foster Care program for more than 30 years and impacted dozens of children’s lives along the way.
She is survived by daughter, Selena Smith and husband Daniel of Littlestown, PA, Bruce Schott and wife Wendy of Hanover, PA, and Brad Schott and wife Karen of Taneytown; grandchildren, Shane Smith and wife Jessica, Emily Selby, Hannah Smith, Rachel Popp and husband Adam, and Gabrielle, Benjamin, Andrew, Sarah, Austin, Seth, Joshua, Colton, and Ethan Schott; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Zoey, Leah, Madalynn, and Lillian; brother, Frederick William Reynolds of Baltimore; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, at Bethel Assembly of God, 2075 Fish & Game Rd., Littlestown, PA. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 5 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday.
