Cynthia A. Johnson, 54, of Taneytown, Maryland died peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and several friends. Born December 24, 1960 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Arlene Unger Bollinger. She was the wife of Jeffery Johnson, to whom she was married for 38 years.
Cindy was a 1978 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. She was employed at K-Mart in Westminster for 15 years, where she worked her way up to Office Manager. She also worked at Gateway Market in Finksburg for 5 years. She spent 5 of the happiest years of her life caring for her granddaughter, Natalie. Cindy enjoyed playing tennis and golf, taking road trips with her husband in their Corvette, and rides on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Littlestown Eagle Riders.
Surviving in addition to her husband are son, David Johnson and wife Elizabeth of Ellicott City; sisters, Donna Baker and husband Francis of Union Bridge, and Kristine Bapisteller and husband Steven of Taneytown; brother, Donald Bollinger, Jr. of Taneytown; brothers & sisters-in law, Danny Johnson and wife Sandy of Middleburg, Gregory Johnson and companion Sherrie Keeney of Westminster, Robert Johnson and wife Jessica of Westminster, and Jeanne Cooney of Union Bridge; father & mother-in-law, Paul and Joann Johnson of Union Bridge; granddaughter, Natalie Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD. A memorial service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Middleburg United Methodist Church, 700 Johnsville Rd., Keymar, MD with Pastor Darrell Davis officiating.
