Charlotte Marie (Gill) Collins

Charlotte Marie Collins, nee Gill, 89, of Carroll County, MD passed away on August 8, 2023. She was born January 21, 1934, in Reisterstown, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lottie Mae Gill. She was the beloved wife of predeceased William “Bill” A. Collins Jr., her husband of 62 years; devoted mother of her two sons Stephen P. Collins and his wife Jiyun of Manchester, Matthew C. Collins and his wife Michelle of Mechanicsville, and daughter Michele Lawson and husband Todd of Ellicott City; loving “GaGa” of Aaron,  Alex, Andrew, Andy, Ashlyn, Caileigh, Heather and Justin, and Great-Grandmom to Chauncey, Reid and Sophia.; cherished sister of Nancy Myers, Sally Phillips and Edward Gill; she was predeceased by her sister Emily Collins and her brothers Eugene and Charles Gill.

Charlotte, or Charlie as her colleagues called her, worked for over 40 years as a registered nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore caring for pediatric patients. Aside from a calling to nursing as a career, Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Saturday morning coffee with her sisters, loved the beach, listening to the ocean and enjoying a glass of wine.

The family will receive friends 10 AM to 11 AM, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Carrollton Church of God, 2151 Bethel Road, Finksburg MD 21048, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM with her pastor the Rev. David L. Meador officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD 21048. A luncheon will follow the interment at the Carrollton Church of God in Finksburg.
