Charles Rhea “Charlie” Catron, 70, of Union Bridge, MD died peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick. Born February 16, 1947 in Germantown, MD, he was the son of the late William Rhea and Alice Catherine (Kolb) Catron, He was the husband of Connie (Burrier) Catron, to whom he was married for 52 years.
Charlie was a farmer. He and his wife Connie delivered newspapers for the Frederick News-Post for more than 28 years. He enjoyed making hay, traveling, bowling, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Connie, are daughters, Linda Bruchey of Westminster, and Cheryl Rabe and husband Karl of Leesburg, VA; sister, Wilma Swick of WV; grandchildren, Leslie and Tyler Bruchey, and Chase, Skylar, and Brandon Rabe; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD with Pastor Jon R. Greenstone officiating. Burial will follow at Toms Creek United Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
