Charles W. Poole, Jr

Charles Wade Poole, Jr., age 69, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Friday, June 18, 2010 following a battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
Born March 12, 1941 in Montgomery Co., MD, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Edna (Beall) Poole, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara (Baker) Poole.
He worked as an automobile and hydraulic mechanic for many years with Wilson Pontiac in Rockville, Stambaugh’s in Union Bridge, and later with Westminster Hydraulics. He owned and operated G & P Concrete for a few years. Charlie loved nature and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2226 in Littlestown, PA.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Kimberly A. Poole Kvernvik of Hagerstown, Lisa M. Wiedeman of Oregon, Tammy M. Strickland and husband Ralph of Alaska, Charles W. Poole, III of Taneytown, and Sabrina M. Iampieri and husband John of Bishopville, MD; grandchildren, Daniel, Kylee, Megan, Chellsey, Austin, Chandler, Isabella, and Alaina; sisters Helen Null of Frederick, Margarette Angell and husband Albert of Taneytown; brother Robert L. Poole and wife Pat of Fairfield, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by brothers, Alfred and Charles Poole.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hampstead Cemetery in Hampstead, MD. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
