Charles William Crowl, Jr., 84, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully surrounded by his loving and devoted family on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home.
Born April 21, 1932 in Bachmans Valley, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles W. Crowl, Sr. and Ruth Naomi (Eckard) Crowl. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Blanche Elizabeth (Shorb) Crowl.
Charles was a lifelong farmer, and also worked as a truck driver and school bus driver for Carroll County schools. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown and the Taneytown Senior Center. He enjoyed mowing grass, eating out, and spending time with and helping out his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Beverly Stanley and life-partner, Eugene Rock of Taneytown; sons, Larry Crowl, Sr. and wife Amy of Taneytown, Randy Crowl of Westminster, and Terry Crowl and wife Valerie of Taneytown; grandchildren, Larry Crowl, Jr., Stacy Livelsberger, Lee Crowl, Megan Humple, Kayla Crowl, and Hunter Schafer; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Fogle of New Oxford, PA, and Connie Merryman of Pikesville, MD.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Rev. Cristopher Frigm officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
