Catherine “Cathie” Hodge-Robitaille, 91, of Naples, FL, was called to her eternal home on Sunday March 5, 2017. Born May 8, 1925 in Emmitsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Cotilus) Timmerman. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Z. Robitaille.
Cathie lived for many years in Bethesda, MD, before relocating to Naples. She was a devoted member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Parish in Naples, where she was a faith leader in the Wednesday morning prayer group, as well as being a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She held various offices with the Council of Catholic Women, and was devoted to raising contributions for Sunlight Home, which was especially dear to her heart. Cathie cared for the needs of migrant workers and Vietnam Veterans of America, and regularly volunteered for church and community outreach projects. She loved playing Rummy and Mah-Jongg. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Surviving are her 2 daughters, Karen Bird and Joyce Darden; 5 grandchildren, Aaron, Ben, and Sara Bird, and Jimmy and Jeff Darden; 9 great-grandchildren, aged 5 months to 21 years; and 2 sisters, Ann Besash and Christine Timmerman. She was predeceased by her son, Victor Hodge.
Cathie’s family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD. A graveside committal service will follow at 11 a.m. at New St. Joseph Cemetery with the Rev. John J. Holliday, C.M. officiating.
