Catherine Lucille Green, 92, of Taneytown, MD, died peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester. Born September 15, 1924 in Mt. Airy, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ida (Majors) Snyder. She was the wife of the late Howard Arthur Green, Sr., to whom she was married for 72 years.
Catherine was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a proud employee of Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown for many years and was a member of the Hesson Snider American Legion Post 120 Auxiliary in Taneytown. She enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, flea marketing, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are sons, Howard Green, Jr. and wife Doris, and Shellman “Punky” Green, all of Taneytown, and Ralph Green and wife Connie of Keymar; sister, Evelyn Toms and husband Roland of New Oxford, PA; daughter-in-law, Janet Green of Taneytown; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Robert “Bob” Green; sisters, Rosie Weddle, Mildred Hymiller, Marjorie Green, Betty Snyder, and Irene Ennis; and brother, James Snyder.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Horner officiating. Interment will follow at Grace U.C.C. Cemetery.
