Carolyn (Stitely) Renner

October 25, 1946 — May 29, 2015

Carolyn Louise Renner, 68, of Taneytown, Maryland died peacefully Friday, May 29, 2015 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.  Born October 25, 1946 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Nellie Barnes Stitely.  She was the wife of the late Franklin Renner, Sr., who died in 2004.

Carolyn worked as a Bar Tacker at Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown and Thurmont Shoe Company in Thurmont.  She was a member of American Legion, Edwin C. Creeger Jr. Post 168 and AMVETS Post 7, both in Thurmont.  She enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, watching soap operas, and spending time with family.  She was an avid Washington Redskins fan.

Surviving are daughters, Tammy Renner of Taneytown, and Annette Stonesifer and husband Randy of Taneytown; son, Franklin Renner, Jr. of Ladiesburg; sisters, Luann Wilson and husband Arty, and Janet Stitely, all of Taneytown; brother, Robert Stitely of Keymar; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD.  Interment will follow at Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
