Caroline Mary Marchsteiner, 95, of Taneytown, died Saturday, November 27 at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born June 16, 1915 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John & Margaret (Baum) Stanley. She was the loving wife of the late George W. Marchsteiner.
Surviving is granddaughter Kelly Prihoda of Pikesville and “special” family friend and caregiver, Debbie Young of Taneytown. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by loving daughter Carol (Carrie) Prihoda and devoted son-in-law, Ronald Prihoda.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown. She shared a unique, extraordinary and eternal bond with her daughter Carol. They enjoyed endless shopping, dining out and filling her insatiable sweet tooth. Her simple pleasures in life included retrieving the daily paper and mail, weekly beauty salon visits to have hair and nails done to compliment her sharp fashion sense, and an endearing fondness of owls.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Maryland. Prayers will be offered at 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with Monsignor Martin E Field officiating. Interment will follow in Moreland Memorial Park in Parkville, Maryland.
