Caroline (Delawder) Haines

October 14, 1934 — February 18, 2017

Caroline Delawder Haines, 82, resident of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born October 14, 1934 in Uniontown, Maryland, she was the daughter to the late Bennie Franklin and Pearl Virginia (Hanlin) Delawder.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald E. Haines.

Caroline was a graduate of the Taneytown High School class of 1953.  She worked in the sewing factory in Taneytown as a seamstress.  She enjoyed listening to country music, hanging out with her puppy Gypsy, watching game shows, and camping.

Surviving in addition to her husband are sons, Donald Patrick Haines of Spring Grove, PA, Stephen Ellsworth Haines of Taneytown, MD, and Wesley Paul Haines and wife Kelly Lynn of Taneytown; grandchildren, Melissa Warfield, Chris Crumbaugh, Jessica Hill, Megan McDonald, Lauren, Heather, Ryan, and Tiffany Haines; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Donovayn, Hunter, Harper, Gavin, Lavender, Marley, Price, Cole, Rilee, Reis, and Roman.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Dennis Haines; and by siblings, MaryEllen Reese, Elizabeth Flanary, Bennie Richard Delawder, Phyllis Bright, and Owen Delawder.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
