Carole L. Stonesifer Lescalleet

January 28, 1937 — June 18, 2009

Carole Linda Stonesifer Lescalleet, age 72 of Westminster, died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Carroll Hospice Dove House, following a 7 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born January 28, 1937 in Melrose, MD, daughter of the late Norman O. and Freda Selders Eckard. She was the wife of the late Carl “Jim” Stonesifer who died in 1992 and the late William “Bill” Lescalleet who died in 2003. She was an active member of Uniontown United Methodist Church. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked at Windsor Shoe, Hahn’s of Westminster and retired from Carroll County Public Schools as a custodian at North Carroll High School.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Terrie L. and Lloyd Divers of Littlestown, PA and daughter and companion, Kellie S. Stonesifer and Tim Carr both of Westminster; siblings, Betty Flickinger of Westminster, Dolly Null of Hanover, PA and Clarence Eckard of Westminster; grandson, Grant Snyder and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Donald L. Stonesifer in 1966 and siblings, Alice Gill, Mary Shamer, Patty Stonesifer, Charles, William, Ralph and Leon Eckard.
A funeral service will be held Monday 11:00 A.M. at Uniontown United Methodist Church, 3405 Uniontown Road, Uniontown with Revs. Charles and Holly Slaugh officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Run.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster and Monday 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
