Carole Ann Anders, 86, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov 27, 2022 at Carroll Lutheran Village, Westminster, Maryland. She was born on November 21, 1936, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Robert Liles Collard and Anna Pauline Collard, who predeceased her.
Carole was a 1954 graduate of Central High School in Little Rock, and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Ole Miss University in Oxford, Mississippi. She married John Henry Anders on January 16, 1959. Following a wedding trip to New York City, the couple lived in North Little Rock while John was stationed at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville. John was discharged from the Air Force in May 1966 and later had a career in sales and marketing in the aerospace industry. The couple enjoyed traveling together, and Carole wrote a detailed account of a trip they made to Scotland in June 1996. Carole retired from a long career in medical technology in Marina del Rey, California. John passed January 26, 2004. Carole was able to continue to live independently in a beautiful cottage at Carroll Lutheran Village until just before her passing.
Carole will be remembered for her many talents and generosity. She was an accomplished pianist and seamstress, an avid reader, talented writer, and a furniture maker. Carole is survived by her sisters, Judy Collard Mallet of Arkansas, Cathleen “Catsy” Collard Gunn of Oklahoma, and her brother, Robert Liles Collard, Jr. of Florida.
