Carl Dean Boisvert, 63, of Taneytown, died at the University of Maryland Medical Center on May 17, 2008.
Born on July 27, 1945, in Manchester NH, he was the son of the late Omer Donat Boisvert and Caroline Lorraine Dumas Boisvert. He was the husband of Jacquelyn Jester Boisvert, his wife of 11 years.
He was a high school graduate from the state of NH obtaining his certificate in 1963. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from the Department of Defense in 1999 with a total of 37 years of government service. He was employed at EAGLE ALLIANCE/Computer Science Corporation.
He was a member and former president of the Taneytown Lions Club. He was awarded the distinction of being a Melvin Jones fellow in 2007. He served as membership Chairman, Donations Chairman, and served on several other committees within the club. He was a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taneytown, MD. He was a member of the American Legion Hession and Snyder Post 120, Taneytown, MD and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2226, Littlestown, Pa.
He was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis, MD and coached youth baseball at the church. He coached Little League football for the Annapolis Elks club. He was also a founding member of the Annapolis Crusaders Football team and coached several teams.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife and serving the community through the Taneytown Lions Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son Andrew T. Boisvert of Anderson, SC; step-son Ryan W. Polk of Atlanta, GA; sisters Sandra P. Boisvert and Elaine Fallah of Manchester, NH; sister-in-law Laurie Boisvert of Manchester, NH; father and mother-in-law Theodore and Mildred Jester of Taneytown; brother and sister-in-law Achim and Patricia Gartmann of Santa Rosa, CA; sister-in-law Anita Landreau and partner Anne Candreva of Pittsburgh, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St. Taneytown, with his pastor the Rev. Nicholas Brie officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, where the Taneytown Lions Club will conduct a memorial service at 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church.
