Byron Edward Crouse

Byron Edward Crouse, 82, of Taneytown, Maryland died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at his home.  Born May 22, 1932 near Union Bridge, he was the son of the late George and Helen Lambert Crouse.  He was the husband of Shirley Berkemeier Crouse, to whom he was married for 55 years.

Byron was a loader operator for the LeFarge Stone Quarry, where he worked for 44 years.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Marine Corps.  He was a collector of antique tractors, toy tractors, and watch fobs.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, David Crouse and companion Barbara Buffington, Helen Airing and husband Larry, and Donald Crouse, all of Taneytown; sisters, Thelma Jane Reaver of Westminster, and Deanna Sell of Taneytown; grandchildren, Davis Crouse, Heather Airing, and Ciana Crouse; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sister, Josephine Harner, and brothers, Wayne and George Crouse.

Arrangements are private, and have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
