Bruno Schott, age 79, of Union Bridge, Maryland, died on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born February 2, 1933 in Germany, he was the son of the late Johann and Emma (Dier) Schott. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irene C. (Reynolds) Schott.
Mr. Schott was a life-long farmer, and retired after 25 years service with the Carroll County Farm Museum. He enjoyed spending time with his family around the family farm. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God in Littlestown.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Selena C. Smith and husband Daniel A. of Littlestown, Bruce B. Schott and wife Wendy E. of Hanover, and Brad J. Schott and wife Karen E. of Taneytown; grandchildren, Shane E. Smith and wife Jessica, Emily R. Selby, Hannah E. Smith, Rachel E. Smith, Gabrielle E., Benjamin W., Andrew L., Sarah R., Austin J., Seth J., Joshua L., and Colton J. Schott; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Zoey, and Leah; siblings, Hermann Schott of Taneytown, Gustav Schott of East Berlin, PA, and Lydia Schott of Taneytown.
He was predeceased by siblings, Meta Wade and Bernhard Schott.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Bethel Assembly of God, 2075 Fish & Game Rd., Littlestown, PA, with Pastor Gary Schafer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown, MD. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
