Howard Robert “Bob” Snyder, 76, of Frederick died peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Born September 25, 1941 in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Howard and Charlotte (Wenman) Snyder.
Bob was in Realty Management with IBM Corporation for 30 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post 11 in Frederick, Vietnam Veterans of America, the National Rifle Association, the Western Maryland Railway Historical Society and the Train Collectors Association. He enjoyed worshipping at Lifehouse Church in Hagerstown. Bob enjoyed model railroading, going on railroad excursions, and boating. He was a Ham Radio operator and enthusiast, and an avid fan of the Washington Redskins.
He is survived by sons, Charles “Chuck” Snyder and wife Kelly of Emmitsburg, and Tim Snyder and wife Lisa of Thurmont; daughter, Jacquelyn Llewellyn and husband John of Clarksburg; sister, Beverly Wenman-Seaman of Mt. Vernon, WA; grandchildren, Matthew Morgan and wife Jennifer of Panama City, FL, and Brandon, Payton, Ashlynn, Aidan and Noelle Snyder. He is also remembered by his former wife, Denyse Corrado and her husband Charles of Chevy Chase, MD.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Lifehouse Church, 515 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Patrick Grach officiating. Inurnment will take place at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, MD at a later date.
