Joseph William “Billy” Wilson, 68, of Fairfield, PA, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Martinsburg V.A. Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.  Born Sept 13, 1948 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Dorothy (Smith) Wilson.

Billy was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  He was seriously wounded during the Vietnam War and spent the remainder of his life as a disabled veteran.  He passed the time by tending bar at the Hillside Inn in Fairfield for many years.  He was a member of AMVETS Post 7 in Thurmont, the Francis X. Elder American Legion Post 121 in Emmitsburg, and VFW Memorial Post 6658 in Emmitsburg.  He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers.  He enjoyed spending time with Skip and Penny at the Thurmont Bar and Grill, and visiting Las Vegas.  He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family members.

He is survived by sisters, Margaret Lookingbill of Taneytown, Patricia Toms of Mifflinburg, PA, and Shirley Jones and husband Larry of Washington, PA.  He is also remembered by his extended family, Gerald “Butch” Miller, Beverly Ott, Carolyn Rippeon, and Karen Manning and husband Dave, all of Fairfield, PA.  He was predeceased by Catherine “Cass” Miller, who raised him from his teen years.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD, with the Rev. Joseph Stahura officiating.  Interment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
