Beverly Ann Beatty, age 70, of Westminster, died Thursday October 7, 2010 at Carroll Hospital Center. She was born November 15, 1939 in Westminster, the daughter of the late Walter and Hilda Petry Wimert. She was the wife of Harold F. Beatty, her husband of 46 years.
She was an active member of the Church of the Open Door, where she was involved in the Royal Blue Study Group and the Super 60’s. She was a member of the Suburban Homemakers Club and enjoyed traveling. Her favorite trips were a cruise to Alaska and a trip to Hawaii. She enjoyed cooking and won many awards for baking. She published a cookbook called, “Cooking with Honey” and enjoyed cooking for family and friends and holding gatherings in her home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Vince Malta of Frederick, son, Rick Landis of Westminster and son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Diane Beatty of Manchester; siblings, Delores Elkins of Hanover, James Wimert of Westminster, Larry Wimert of North Carolina and Catherine Marquette of Westminster; grandchildren, Frank Malta, Lauren Malta Kessler, Allison, Bryan, Heather and Maura Beatty.
A funeral service will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd, Westminster with Pastor John Campbell officiating. Private interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster and Monday 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
