Betty Delores Wilson, age 70, of Taneytown died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Lorien Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taneytown. Born August 21, 1941 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Elwood and Bertha Irene Wetzel Wilson. She was the wife of the late Charles Lee Crowe.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown. Betty worked as a coffee hostess at the local Sheetz convenience store for many years. She enjoyed attending the auction in Taneytown, spending time with her family and friends, and volunteering at the St. Joseph Church food bank with her childhood friend, Patt Carr.
Surviving are daughters, Brenda Crowe of South Carolina, Sandra Crowe & husband, Daryl Pearce, of Taneytown, Sherry Robertson of Taneytown, and Sharon Kelly & husband, Darrin, of Taneytown; sons, Charles Crowe, Jr. of South Carolina, Kenneth Wilson of Baltimore County, and James Crowe of Woodsboro; sister, Catherine Weishour & husband, Roy, of Taneytown; brother, Wayne Wilson & wife, Margie, of Gettysburg, PA; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Dorothy Glacken and brothers, David Wetzel and Kenneth, Robert, & Chester Wilson.
The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Friday, April 20 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD. A graveside service and interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Keysville Union Cemetery with Monsignor Martin E. Field officiating.
