Betty Talbott, age 80, of York, Pennsylvania, formerly of Frederick, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2014 at the York Hospital.
She was born September 4, 1933 in Middletown, Ohio the daughter of the late Earl and Nettie (McCarty) Harden. She was predeceased by her husband, Spalding J. Talbott, Jr. in 1988.
Betty worked in various factories and was a devoted homemaker and mother. She was a gifted and published poet, artist, avid reader, and won numerous spelling bee contests as a student.
Surviving her are son, Daniel T. Talbott of York, Pa.; daughter, Rebecca M. Stinnett and husband David of Fairfield, Pa.; grandchildren, Jesse Talbott, Jamie O’Connell and wife Chaz, Tiffany Elswick and husband Justin; great-grandchildren, Jada, Jesse Jr., Anthony, and Brantley; siblings, Charles Harden of Hamilton, Ohio, Doris Dawson, David Harden, Mary Schmidt and husband Dennis all of Fairfield, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Talbott; sister, Marie Hisle; and twin brother, Bobby Harden.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
