Betty Lou Stambaugh, 73, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at York Hospital in York, PA. Born August 1, 1947 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ed Smith, Jr. and the late Loretta (Adams) Smith. She was the devoted wife of Albert Stambaugh, her husband of 53 years.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved sitting on her back porch, going for rides, and checking out flea markets. During her working years, she worked as a collator at Moore’s Business Forms in Thurmont. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband Albert, are son, Kenneth Stambaugh and wife Debora of Smithsburg, MD; daughter, Tracy Boyle and husband Vince of Waynesboro, PA; sisters, Karon Shorb and husband Dave of Fairfield, PA, and Linda Clingan and husband Paul of Taneytown, MD; grandsons, Garrett Tamayo and Kenneth “Teddy” Rhoads; great-granddaughter, Molly Rhoads; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD, with Pastor Jim Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt, Tabor Cemetery in Rocky Ridge MD. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
