Betty Jane “Granny” Muller, age 73, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Carroll Hospital Center.
Born May 31, 1942 in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Sterling and Dorothy (White) Yingling. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Muller, Jr.
Betty was mainly a homemaker, but also worked on the family farm, for Shriver’s canning factory, at Boston Inn laundry, and Cactus Willies/Horn & Horn. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, and her favorite color was yellow. She loved sitting in the backyard with her sisters Daisy and Elsie; and enjoyed breakfast at Bob Evans with her daughter Bonnie. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Surviving are children, Terry Yingling and wife Cathy of Keymar, Bonnie Yingling of Taneytown, and George Muller and fiancé Charlotte Walsh of Taneytown; grandchildren, Jason Yingling and wife June of Westminster, Kristen Yingling and fiancé Greg Keifer of McSherrystown, PA, Jessica Yingling, Kevin Yingling, George Muller, Jr., and Jaylyn Yingling all of Taneytown, and Misty Looney of York, PA; great-grandchildren, Julian, Peyton, Kinley, Liberty, Millie, Paisley, and Charley; sisters, Daisy Petry of Westminster, Elsie Stephan of Union Mills; brothers, Harry and Robert Yingling of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by daughter, Carol Ann Yingling; son, Richard Charles Muller; and brothers, George Wike, Sr. and John Wike.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD. Interment will follow in Salem U.M. Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
