Betty Louise Caulford, age 58 of Westminster, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center. She was born April 12, 1950 in Ohiopyle, PA the daughter of the late Harry and Opal Mae Friend Tressler. She was the wife of James “Jess” Caulford, Jr., his wife of 40 years. She was a dedicated volunteer at Westminster Elementary and William Winchester Elementary for many years. She also worked at Feesers Fruit Market, delivering food to the elderly. She was a cub scout den leader and volunteered with the girl scouts. She also enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her husband she is survived by son, James “Jimmy” Caulford III of Westminster; daughter-in-law, Stacie Caulford, daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Shenandoah Mayo of Taneytown; siblings and spouses, Judy and Ed Collins of Addison, PA, Helen and Martin Stavanis of Confluence, PA, Peggy and Nick Borous of Farmington, PA and Wayne and Donna Bowser of Friendsville, MD; grandchildren, Ashley, Jake, Fawnia, Ben, Chris and Nate; also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Leslie Ann Caulford.
A funeral service will be held Monday 12 noon at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Rev. Richard K. Shamer officiating. Interment will follow in St. John’s (Leisters) Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Monday 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
