Betty (Boyer) Brauning

June 23, 1944 — June 27, 2015

Betty Christine Brauning, 71, of Taneytown, Maryland died peacefully Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home.  Born June 23, 1944 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Nusbaum) Boyer.  She was the wife of E. Gordon Brauning, to whom she was married for almost 35 years.  Her first husband, John W. Renner, died in 1979.

Betty was a housewife and homemaker who enjoyed life on the family farm. She was a graduate of Walkersville High School, class of 1962.  She was a member of Taneytown United Presbyterian Church. Betty enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking.  She loved spending time with family, and entertaining friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband are son, Brad Brauning and wife Diane of Taneytown; daughters, Beverly Anthony and husband Steve, and Tina Golling and husband Richard, all of Taneytown, and Kimberly Kurtz and husband Bill of Keymar; step-sons, Gene Brauning of Westminster, and Eric Brauning and wife Tinia of Taneytown; sisters, Sylvia Burrier and husband Sterling of Johnsville, and Carolann Getzandanner and husband Wayne of Graceham; brother, Maurice Boyer of Libertytown; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Woodsboro.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
