Bertha Mae Shockley, age 84, of Taneytown died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Golden Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westminster.
Born May 9, 1927 in Hillsville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Gladys Kenley Shockley. She was a homemaker and member of Taneytown Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and participating in church activities.
She is survived by a nephew and 3 nieces. She was predeceased by sisters Mary Agnes Reaver and Sarah Kate Brower.
A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Pastor Gary F. Buchman officiating. Interment will follow at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
