Bernard J. Ott, III, age 69, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born July 25, 1943 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of Evelyn (Moose) Ott of Emmitsburg and the late Bernard J. Ott, Jr. He is survived by his girlfriend, Patricia Smith of Emmitsburg.
He was the owner and president of Nusbaum and Ott Painting Contractors of Emmitsburg and Westminster. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 6658, and the American Legion Post 121 all of Emmitsburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are former spouse, Ann Ott of Thurmont; son, Bernard Ott, IV and fiancée Tammy Joslin of Valencia, California; daughter, Angela White and husband Russell of Frederick; son Brian Ott and wife Lynn of Emmitsburg; grandchildren, Adrian Ott, Stephan Jordan, Antoine Jordan, Megan Ott, and Zarah White; brothers, David Ott and wife Jane, Robert Ott and wife Carolyn both of Emmitsburg, Richard Ott and partner David of Florida; sisters, Susan Glass and husband Larry of Emmitsburg, Rosie Bittle and husband Steve of Carroll Valley, Catherine Ott and Christine Wilson and husband Robert all of Emmitsburg; brother-in-laws, Deane Snively of Frederick and John Snively of Fairfield, PA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Ott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 44 DePaul St., Emmitsburg. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg.
