Beatrice Brown (Heard) Badders

January 4, 1920 — June 17, 2014

Mrs. Bea Badders, 94, lifetime resident of Baltimore, Md. died in her home on June 17, 2014. She was surrounded by her friends and family as she made her final journey to be with God.
A celebration of life will be held at Lovely Lane Methodist Church, St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD., on July 9th, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Preceding the celebration a graveside service for immediate family will be held at Gardens of Faith cemetery, in Baltimore.
“Mrs. Bea”, as she was known, was born to Mary Kerr Dunlap and O.O. Heard on January 4, 1920 in Elkton Maryland. She was the oldest of 6 children, four girls and two boys.  She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Charles Badders, her husband Walter Coleman Badders, Jr., one sister, and two brothers.
Mrs. Bea attended Towson State, University of Maryland, and Columbus State University. She loved attending seminars involving Early Childhood Education with her fellow teachers. She taught at Brown Memorial Weekday Nursery School for 39 years. Anyone that spent any time around Mrs. Bea could get caught up in her awe, enthusiasm and her joy of life.
She is survived by two sisters, Constance Waxter, Annette Seidler. Two children, Virginia (Ginny) Dunlap Potter (Billy), of Upatoi, Ga, and Raymond Walter Badders, of Manchester, Md, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.   Also, a step sister, Ellen Faith, and two step brothers, John Heard, and Brooks Heard.  She also leaves many dear friends.
She was active in her church, her quilting group, the Baltimore Symphony, and she was also an active Volunteer with Columbus Hospice, in Columbus, Ga. She was an avid reader on many subjects, a prolific writer, and currently was working on a book about the American Revolution for young children.
The family would also like to thank Carroll County Hospice for their support during this time.
