Barbara Jane Stewart, 60, of Taneytown died peacefully Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at her home. Born July 28, 1952 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Marie Gosinski Wallace of Sykesville and the late John Samborski.
Barbara was a homemaker and daycare provider. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her mother are daughters, Jackie Pickett and husband, Joe, Angi Sell and husband, Duane “Squirrel” Sell, and Jamie Stewart, all of Taneytown, and Jessica Hopson and husband, Andre Diaz, of Reisterstown; sisters, Carolyn Malstrom of Sykesville, and Diana Wallace-Vaughn and husband, Wayne Vaughn, of Finksburg; brother, David Wallace and wife, Barbara of Finksburg; step-son, Michael Hopson, Jr. of VA; grandchildren, Nick, Kat, Tristian, Luis, Michael, and Noah; step-grandchildren, Joey and Ashley; as well as three nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by infant son, Steven Hopson, and infant grandson, Logan Pickett.
A brief prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Mr. Darrell Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
