Barbara Catherine (Rhinehart) Miller

Mrs. Barbara Catherine Miller (Rhinehart), 88, of Westminster, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Ridge Overlook Assisted Living.

Barbara was born and raised in Montgomery County, MD to Rezie Wright Rhinehart and Ida Dorcus Rhinehart (Whetzel).  Barbara was the second of their seven children.  She was predeceased by Betty, Irvin, and Brenda, and is survived by Edwin, Nelson, and Eileen.  She graduated from Damascus High School in 1951 where she served as the Senior Class Historian.

Using the clerical skills that she learned in school, Barbara worked as a secretary at National Institute of Health before marrying and starting a family.  Later she returned to work for 30 years at J. Schoeneman, Inc.

Barbara married her husband, Jonas Eugene Miller, in 1955.  They were married for 46 happy years before Gene entered heaven in 2002.

Barbara showed her love to family and friends by crocheting blankets, needle point on table clothes, and being the seamstress to anyone who needed the help.  She was known for baking incredible cakes and cookies.  Her beautiful gardens were always her pride.  The family looked forward to the Labor Day Picnics and the Miller Christmas Party that she and Gene hosted each year.

Surviving are two sons, Mark S. Miller and wife Marti (Bowen) of Westminster, Thomas L. Miller of Staunton, Va., and her son, Timothy A. Miller (predeceased), and his wife, Linda Bradley of Staunton, Va.  Barbara also enjoyed three grandchildren, Kevin Miller, Christopher Miller, and Sarah Jenvey (Miller) and husband, Ryan; two step-granddaughters; two step great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Thursday, February 17th at Myers-Duboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster 21157.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Friday, February 18th at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the Lake View Memorial Park, Eldersburg.
