Audrey I. Stanford, age 91, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Susquehanna, PA and Venice, Florida, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Fair Havens Assisted Living in Hanover, PA.
Born December 4, 1921 in Susquehanna County, Oakland Twp. PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph B. and Pearl (Belcher) Norton. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Earl T. Marsh and by 2nd husband, George E. Stanford.
Audrey was a registered nurse for many years serving in various hospitals and nursing home facilities in N.Y., Kansas, Washington, and PA. She was an artist and especially enjoyed oil and watercolor painting.
Surviving are son, Stephen E. Marsh and wife Rev. Stacy Marsh of Glen Rock, PA; daughter, Virginia L. Root and husband William of Austin, TX; step-son, David C. Stanford of N.Y.; brothers, Robert O. Norton of FL., James A. Norton and wife Katie of Harpersville, N.Y., David W. Norton of TX.; sisters, Ruth E. Clift of Susquehanna, PA and Rita J. Hurlbut of Binghamton, N.Y.; grandchildren, Michael J. Marsh, Aileen U. Marsh, Jeffrey E. Marsh, Ginger Root Schilling, Matthew Root, and Christopher E. Marsh; great-grandchildren, Ana, Leah, and Nathan Marsh, Michael, Aliyah, and Amelia Scupari, and William Schilling; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, John T. Marsh and by sisters, Mildred M. Lamb and Marjorie P. Suchnick.
A Memorial Service will be held in Susquehanna, PA at a later date. Interment will be at a later date in Venice Memorial Gardens, Venice, FL.
