Audrey Virginia Bowers Rohrbaugh, 92, of Keymar died peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 28, 1923 in Detour, she was the daughter of the late Earl David and Mary Agnes Bentzil Roop. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Bowers, Sr.
She is survived by sons, Robert F. Bowers, Jr. and wife Carol, and Richard E. Bowers and wife Linda, all of Keymar; son-in-law, Mickey Sundgren, of Shippensburg, PA; sister, Thelma Raab of Taneytown; sisters-in-law, Helen and Donna Roop, both of Keymar; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Darlene Virginia Sundgren, sister, Mary Louise Chew, and brothers, Norval and Paul Roop.
Audrey worked for many years at the Taneytown Rubber Company’s plant in Littlestown. She then worked as a Type Setter and Proof Reader at at Moore’s Business Forms in Thurmont until retirement. She was a member of Keysville Evangelical Lutheran Church. Audrey enjoyed gardening, traveling, bird-watching, and spending time with her family. She was a collector of lighthouse and bird figurines.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
