Arthur Eugene Robinson, age 90, of Finksburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday evening, December 23, 2014 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born July 21, 1924 in Kona, N.C., he was the son of the late Jacob and Lizzie (Hall) Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Aileene R. (Higgins) Robinson.
Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during W.W.II. He was a founding member of the Crosswind Church formerly Westminster Church of God where he served as trustee, councilman, and Sunday School teacher. He was retired from Black and Decker in Hampstead as a welder. He enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are grandchildren, Michael Livingston and wife Laura of Hampstead, and Lisa Livingston of Westminster; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Matthew Livingston; brother, Cecil Robinson of S.C.; sons-in-law, Richard Shanklin of Finksburg and Dave Livingston and wife Jackie of Hampstead; step-grandsons, Rick Shanklin and wife Sandy of Bel Air, Greg Shanklin of Finksburg, and Bobby Shanklin of CA; step-great-grandchildren, Christina Shanklin, Nicole Slusher and husband, and Alexander Shanklin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by daughters, Shellia Shanklin and Rheba Livingston; and siblings, George, Faye, Viola, Lawrence, Fred, Elma, Bill, Eliza, Robert and Bulah Robinson; and two infant twin brothers.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Crosswind Church, 642 Lucabaugh Mill Rd., Westminster with Pastor David Sulcer and Rev. Paul Cushing officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
