Arthur “Pete” Howard Sullivan, III, age 80, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born August 22, 1931 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur H. and Emma Viola (Milker) Sullivan, II. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Whittington) Sullivan in 2008.
Pete was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country during the Korean War. He graduated from Westminster High School and then attended Washington College in Chestertown, MD, graduating in 1948 with an accounting degree. He worked for many years as a food broker in Baltimore and later owned and operated Sullivan Properties in Sandymount. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching football, baseball, and basketball. He played on the first varsity football team at Westminster H.S. In later years he enjoyed watching game shows especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune; and was a former member and treasurer of the Roaring Run Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and having “Nanette” his dog by his side.
Surviving are son, Braden W. Sullivan and wife Karen of Westminster, daughter, Susan S. Noyes and husband Paul of Westminster; grandchildren, Carianne A. and Tara M. Sullivan, Travis G. and Avery N. Noyes.
Private graveside services and inurnment will be held in the Sandymount United Methodist Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Westminster.
