Annabelle Maddox Baker

Annabelle Maddox Baker, age 89, of Emmitsburg, MD died peacefully Sunday, October 9, 2011 at her home. Born October 3, 1922 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Esther Burlingame Kreamer. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Baker, Jr.

She was self-employed as landlady of several family-owned apartments and houses. She was past-president of the New York State Home Economics Club. She was an artist who loved to paint and work with stained glass. She studied astrology most of her life. She enjoyed trips to her camp site in Potter County, PA, where she watched the local wildlife. She was very devoted to her family and friends.

Surviving are sons Harry D. Maddox and wife, Brenda of Emmitsburg, John E Maddox and wife, Gloria of Littlestown, Dr. Terry L. Maddox and wife, Carolynn of Thurmont, and Robert Maddox and wife, Denise of Emmitsburg; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Eleanor Kreamer and brother, Harry B. Kreamer.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 14 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD. Interment will follow at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
