Anna Mae Wiles, age 77, of Keymar, Maryland, died on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD., following an extended illness.
Born January 14, 1932 in Rocky Springs, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Lilly May (Morrison) Blank.
Anna was an excellent cook, and ran the White Star Lunch in Frederick on N. Market St. for over thirty years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are children, Joann Huffman and husband Raymond of Thurmont, MD, Donald Wiles of Braddock Heights, MD, Bonnie Adams and husband James of Keymar, MD, Sharon Young and husband Paul of Thurmont, MD, Michael Wiles and wife Laura of Keymar, MD, and Robert Wiles of Emmitsburg, MD; 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, John, Roscoe, Albert, William, and Francis Blank, Helen Coyle, and Lucille Roberts.
Pallbearers will be James Adams, Glenn Holland, Robert Sexton, Kevin Wiles, Paul Young, Jr., and Paul Young, III.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St. Emmitsburg, Maryland with the Rev. Jon R. Greenstone of Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Springs Cemetery in Rocky Springs, MD. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the family in care of the funeral home to help with final expenses.
