Anna Catherine Adams

Anna Catherine Adams, age 93, of Emmitsburg, Maryland died on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Lorien Assisted Living, Taneytown.  Born September 2, 1929, in Emmitsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Cool and Mary (Small) Cool.  She was the devoted wife of Sterling Roger Adams, Sr. until his death June 14, 2014.

Anna was a lifetime member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. She was employed by the American Store right out of high school and ended her career as Head Cashier at the Emmitsburg Jubilee.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the American Legion Post 121.  Two of her pleasures in life were feeding her sons and their families on Thursday nights and taking trips to Ocean City with the family for over 30 years.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-laws, Roger and Sharon, Douglas and Penny, Steven, Dennis and Cindy, Dale and Cathy, and Josi Adams; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by six siblings: John, Guy, Helen, Clara Mae “Skip”, Grace, and Dorothy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul Street, Emmitsburg, MD. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, 10019 Longs Mill Rd. Rocky Ridge.
