Ann Bernice Banks, 86, of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on the Island. Born January 17, 1936, in Jonesville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Houston and Hazel (Miles) Bonham. She was the wife of the late Carl F. Banks, Jr.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed shopping, bowling, gardening, going to garage sales, attending craft fairs, and collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy items and Elvis memorabilia. She was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR races with her son-in-law George.
Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Livermore (George) of Hilton Head Island, SC, and Carol Ann Wickett (Scott) of Charles Town, WV; sisters, Bonnie Eskenasi, Lila Presley, and Jeanna Krovich; grandchildren, Annie Wickett, Heather Remsburg (Scott), Daniel Herring (Evelyn), Jennifer Herring, Kyle Silver, Lucy Silver, Roy Perry, and Thomas Perry, Jr. (Sarah); 6 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her pet dog, Bitsy. Ann was predeceased by son, Thomas Perry; granddaughter, Melissa Shirley; sister, Mary Lou Adams; and brothers, Paul, David, and Benjamin Bonham.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 West Main St., Emmitsburg, MD with Pastor Jon Greenstone officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Williamsport, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
