Amel Gonzalez, age 50, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born July 17, 1959 in Cuba, he was the son of Clicel Alvarez of Cuba, and the late Andre Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lisa A. (Nichols) Gonzalez.
Amel was a kindhearted, humble, gentle soul, who emanated kindness to others. He loved having coffee in his sugar, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Zunilda and William Gonzalez both of Randallstown, Stephanie Gonzalez of Glen Burnie, Derek and Kayta Gonzalez both of Taneytown; a brother Ruben Gonzalez of Florida, six siblings in Cuba; and seven grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 PM, on Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown with Msgr. Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until the time of service at the church.
Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
