Alma Grace Bair, 98, of Taneytown, MD died peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Cross Keys Village in New Oxford, PA. Born November 9, 1918 in Adams County, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Margaret (Gordon) Reever. She was the wife of the late Elvin C. Bair. He passed away in 1999.
Alma was a librarian with the Carroll County Public Library System for 22 years. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown where she participated in the Adult Bible Class. She enjoyed being a part of the Taneytown Senior Citizens in previous years. She enjoyed reading, painting, crewel work and antiques. Her favorite food was ice cream. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are son, David Bair and wife Gina of Taneytown; daughters, Bonita Becker and companion Dennis Haines of Melbourne, FL, and Carol Hoffman and husband Ralph of Gardners, PA; brother, John Wilbur Reever of New Midway; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Glenn and Cletus Reever; sisters, Gladys Nusbaum, Beatrice Waybright, and Garnette Grimes; and grandson, Christopher Becker.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
