Born October 9, 1930 in Frederick County, MD, he was the son of the late Edgar and Fannie Saville Ripley. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine June Ripley.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Allen worked at Riffle Vending Service in Taneytown and Baugher Enterprises of Westminster. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Randy Ripley of Clarksburg, MD and grandsons, Cameron and Colin Ripley.
He was predeceased by brothers, Ralph and Carroll Ripley.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with his pastor the Rev. Steven Ostendorf officiating. Burial will follow in Grace UCC Cemetery.
