Allen Lawrence

Allen Woodrow Lawrence, 82, of Emmitsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2018 at his home.  Born March 20, 1936 in Taneytown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Norman and Blanche (Feeser) Lawrence.

Allen was well loved by his family and friends. Throughout the final years of his life, he was still teasing, chuckling and making others smile in his presence - a true gift. Allen worked at the Emmitsburg Shoe Factory, Mitchell Transport in Woodsboro and Rotorex in Walkersville.

He is survived by his sister Peggy; his three children, Deborah, Steven and Michael along with their husband and wives; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  He is also remembered by his former wife, Betty M. (Lawrence) Stofcik.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Violet, Gladys, Helen and Doris and brothers, Bob, Norman and Jim.

A memorial service to celebrate Allen’s life will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
