Alice Jane Haines

Alice Jane Haines, age 82, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born September 16, 1929 in Pleasant Valley, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Logue and Harriet (Myers) Logue Hull. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edward Thomas Haines.
Alice worked at Bowman’s Hatchery and Weis Markets in Westminster for many years in the produce department. She sang with the Haines Family Singers at various churches in Carroll County and in surrounding states. She was an active member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster and enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved life and enjoyed laughter.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter, Connie Reid and husband Scherl of Westminster; sons, Ronald Haines and wife Diana of Westminster, Donald Haines and wife Amy of Chesterton, Indiana; grandchildren, Sharla and Joel Miller, Brandon Haines and companion Scottanna Jeffreys, Shannon Patten and husband Steve, Adam, Anthony, Andrew, Christopher, and Sarah Haines; brother, Theodore Logue of Taneytown. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Hoke and Helen Shaffer and by a brother, Thomas Logue.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Pastor John Campbell and Pastor Terry Hoke, her nephew co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
