Adam John “Buzz” Klein, Jr., 83, of Taneytown, MD, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, PA. Born September 24, 1932 in Baltimore County, MD, he was the son of the late Adam and Rosa (Lang) Klein, Sr. He was the husband of Mary (Plaine) Klein, to whom he was married for 56 years.
Buzz was a construction worker and was employed by Kibler Construction Company in Finksburg for more than 25 years. He was formerly employed at the Medford Quarry and the Carroll County Roads Department. He was of the Catholic faith and formerly attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown where he served as an usher. Buzz was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. He enjoyed gardening, collecting keychains, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughters, Sharon Davis and husband Dale of Sykesville, and Tina Klein of Taneytown; sons, Brian Klein and wife Tracey of Union Bridge, and Paul Klein and wife Christine of Taneytown; brothers, Michael Klein of Littlestown, PA, Howard Klein of Westminster, Herb Klein and wife Naomi of Hanover, PA, and Robert Klein of PA; sister, Rose McLaughlin of NH; grandchildren, Adam Davis and wife Rachel of CO, Amanda Rockwell and husband Harvey of Sykesville, Justin Klein and wife Rachel of York, PA, Tyler Klein and wife Amanda, Ryan Klein, and Casey Klein, all of Union Bridge, Bradley Houck and wife Kami, Sarah Rill and husband Dustin, Dedra Houck, Nathanial Klein, and Eavan Klein, all of Taneytown; great-grandchildren, Harold, Noah, Layla, Tyler, Skylar, Brayden, Addison, and Jayse; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Joe and Elmer Klein; and sisters, Mary Voelker and Jeanette Lewelling.
A memorial service to celebrate Buzz’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787, with Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz of Carroll Lutheran Village officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
