Larrie James Bostic passed away November 9, 2023 at his home under hospice care. Born May 28, 1940, he was the son of the late James N. Bostic and Betty Jean (Leathery) Bostic Urey and Stepfather Chester Urey. He was the husband of Betsy Mann Bostic for 61 years on October 19, 2023.
Larrie was a 1959 graduate of Westminster High School; he served 3 years in the Army the majority of the time in Germany. He was then employed for almost 40 years at POWRMATIC in Finksburg, MD rising from floor sweeper to engineering manager, building commercial heating units. After retirement he spent time raising a bountiful garden and “fixing things” for family and friends. He was also an avid bicyclist.
Besides his wife and daughters, Laurie Jeanne Bostic and Jennifer Lynne Bostic, he is survived by siblings Jeanie (Bostic) Huyett Zettle, Jay L. Bostic, Beckie (Urey) Duvall Kendall, Mike Urey and their families.
A special thanks to friends Kathy Benge and Brenda Hastings; neighbors The Reedys, Adam Zepp; and to Jennifer for her care and constant nursing of her father these past few weeks.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 10-11am at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A funeral service will be held at 11am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in Larrie’s name. Online condolences can be expressed to the family at www.myersdurborawfh.com.
